As a module of the Indexing Service, cisvc.exe helps cidaemon.exe - handling the 'filtering component' as well as writing the word list to an index which is then written to disk. Cisvc.exe notifies cidaemon.exe when changes are written to files, telling it it needs to reindex the files. As with cidaemon.exe this process is not critical, however, ending it via task manager is not recommended, rather, you should disable indexing.
